Hello, I am Anokh Palakurthi. I’m pursuing my masters degree at Brandeis University in Business Analytics, with a concentration in sports analytics. I completed my undergraduate degree in sports journalism at the University of Connecticut in 2016. I am most recognized for my contributions in competitive gaming, particularly in Super Smash Bros. Melee, where I worked as an esports journalist, authored a book, and produced videos for one of the biggest Melee YouTube channels in the world.
Since then though, I’ve pivoted my focus toward American football as part of my MSBA program. I recently wrote a paper about using neural networks to forecast quarterback performance and contract rates. Before that, I worked on my own personal Wins Above Replacement model for evaluating NFL players, including quarterbacks, skill position players, offensive linemen, and defensive players from the 2021-2024 seasons.
